Katie Ragan, LCSW

The human experience can be filled with love and joy. It also involves change, uncertainty and pain. Sometimes the people we care about most cause us the most anguish. Sometimes we feel stuck—as parents, partners or individuals. Even our most difficult struggles are opportunities for insight and growth. Therapy can be instrumental in this growth.

As a therapist trained at Columbia University and at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Katie believes that therapy is a dynamic, collaborative process. She specializes in helping individuals, couples and families navigate difficult times, rebuild lost connections, create change and develop the tools necessary for personal and relational healing.

She has extensive experience helping:

  • families concerned with the behavior and/or academic performance of their children
  • parents trying to co-parent more collaboratively
  • parents and teenagers struggling to get along
  • couples looking for the tools to communicate more effectively and connect more deeply
  • couples navigating cultural differences
  • couples struggling with commitment concerns
  • individuals facing challenges in their work, family or social lives
