Margot Mann, IBCLC

Margot Mann is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with over 30 years of experience empowering women to breastfeed. Aware that breastfeeding can be difficult at first, Margot is available to help you learn techniques designed to eliminate pain, achieve your infant feeding goals and experience the pleasure of nursing your babies.

Margot is skilled with multiples (twins and more), early breastfeeding challenges with premies, relieving sore nipples, optimizing milk production, coping with return to work, maternal or infant illness, or other challenges such as weaning or the unique challenges that you face. For prevention of commonly faced difficulties Margot recommends antenatal breastfeeding education/ consultation.

Margot is a past president of the New York Lactation Consultant Association, a past Vice President for External Affairs for the International Lactation Consultant Association and is  ILCA’s founding and permanent representative to the UN. She established a lactation program at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and is on the faculty of Columbia University, Pediatrics Department. She teaches Columbia Pediatric Residents. Her greatest pleasure is in assisting mothers to do what they are born to do well – mother their children. Breastfeeding can help tune a mother into her baby’s cues and needs and thereby boost a mother’s confidence in her job – which goes way beyond infant feeding.
