Dr. Garcia is a triple board-certified physician who offers inclusive and comprehensive care in all facets of endocrinology. She strongly believes in providing patient-customized high quality care aiming to achieve and maintain optimal health and sustainable well-being.
Dr. Garcia received her Medical Degree at Zulia University in Venezuela where she graduated summa cum laude. Following her residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Queens Hospital Center, she completed a Geriatrics Medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College in New York. She continued her medical training in New Orleans where she pursued her Endocrinology fellowship at Louisiana State University. Dr. Garcia also completed a clinical training in Obesity Medicine at Columbia/Weill Cornell and became a Certified Diplomate in the area of Obesity and weight management.
Dr. Garcia is a strong proponent of lifelong career learning. She has been involved in several publications in the fields of thyroid cancer, hyperlipidemia, adrenal insufficiency and disorders of metabolism and diabetes. Dr. Garcia is also a co-author of a first edition textbook on arthritis in women and the influence of hormones in joint health.
Dr. Garcia is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Thyroid Association and the American College of Physicians.
